Our Farm

Our Farm - "CASA COLSERENO"

Set close to the most artistic, cultural and culinary areas of Tuscany, “Colsereno”, a family operated farm, has about 73 hectares, 9 of which are cultivated to produce Brunello.

It’s the ideal place for those who live in chaotic and bustling cities, wanting to have a simple and authentic holiday, eating wholesome food, enjoying the peace of the Sienese hills, listening to the rhythm and of the laws of nature, in an area rich with natural and historical treasures.

Its calm, comfortable, hospitable environment entices those who stay to return, because it’s easy to reach (either by car or by public transport); because it’s a cure-all for who is tired and stressed out by the daily grind; because it’s a romantic interlude to rediscover love; because it’s the perfect balance between nature and sport, for sport lovers;  because it offers the right proportion between quality and price and also because your four-legged friends are welcome!

The Restaurant

The Restaurant - "CASA COLSERENO"

From our passion for genuine and natural products, from our love of old traditons, the Inn “Pane e Vino” was born.  The restaurant is annexed to the farm where you can immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere of the Sienese hills and taste traditional Tuscan cuisine.

A bit of History

Dating back to the beginning of the 1900’s, the farmhouse was the residence of jockeys who participated in the famous Palio of Siena up until 1987;  it was then completely restored but maintains details of the period, such as stone walls and wood beamed ceilings, which makes it one of the most characteristic farm holiday residences in Tuscany.

A new owner in 1987 dedicated the farm exclusively to farming, mainly hay and grains.

Then in 1993 the birth of farm holiday accommodations almost immediately followed by the Inn and just five years later, in 1998 the first planting of an hectare of Brunello, and little by little 8 more hectares, so that now of the roughly 73 hectares of farm land 9 hectares are vineyards, eight of Brunello and one of Rosso di Montalcino.

2001 was the year in which the sons were passed their inheritance, and they have continued to follow the family’s tradition, giving more importance to wine growing on the farm, using an enterprising and  dynamic style in running the farm.
